English lessons
Your child will be tested on arrival and placed in the right class for their age and English ability.
We offer 6 levels, from Beginner to Advanced.
Learning is through engaging and fun activities including projects, games, and group work. These encourage confidence, collaboration and, of course, communication.
The syllabus includes:
- Language input and language practice
- UK or US culture lessons
- Excursion preparation/ follow-up lessons
- Online safety classes
- Project lessons
There is also a weekly review of materials studied.

At some of our residential summer centres you can choose additional options to make our standard Summer Course even more special for your child.
For an additional supplement they will have an extra 3 or 6 hours each week.

At Bath (Downside)
Horse Riding
Your child will receive tuition at a local approved stable in walking, trotting, cantering, jumping, hacking and horse management (according to level).

Tennis
A professional tennis coach helps your child with ball skills, serving, developing match play techniques, skills and fitness. This takes place on site.

At Newbury (Downe House)
Harry Potter
This 2-week course includes classes in magic, wizardry and a study of Harry Potter characters.
Your child will go on a Harry Potter trail in Oxford including visits to famous attractions featured in the movies.
They will also attend Harry Potter movie night and quiz plus a visit to the Harry Potter set at Warner Brothers Studio, London.
