What happens after I submit my application?

Once you have completed the online application and emailed your CV and qualifications to the recruitment email your application will be reviewed. If you meet all requirements and are shortlisted for interview you will be contacted within 3 weeks of your application.

Most interviews take place online via Microsoft Teams. This interview usually lasts 30-45 mins (10-20 minutes for returning staff).
We will also plan on running a series of recruitment days early in 2024 – further information will be posted in the coming months.

All staff must be eligible to work in the UK. All gaps in CVs will be queried and two recent professional references are required for each applicant (one if returning applicant).

Prior to interview, we invite all candidates to thoroughly go through the job description they are applying for.
Upon successful interview you will receive an initial offer email confirming all the details followed by a contract, new hire paperwork and other information regarding your role with Kings.
Once these are returned you will be given access to our online training platform.

We aim to promote managers from within – based on performance in previous summers – but highly encourage new applicants as well.

Will I be background-checked?

Yes, Kings will conduct a background check (known as the DBS) for applicants resident in the UK. We will cover the cost of this check for any new staff who are not on the update service but for any returning staff who we have previously done a check for and who are not on the update service we will do the check again but will recoup the cost of the new check in your first salary of the summer.

Letters of good conduct (local police check from the country you currently live in) will be required for those who do not live in UK. (We will give you details on how to obtain this.)

In addition, we require two professional references from a recent employer or college/university. All employment offers are subject to satisfactory results of both background checks and references.

Will I be placed at the centre of my choice?

The recruitment team will aim to place you at the centre you prefer, should you be successful. In certain circumstances, it may be necessary to allocate staff to a different location than originally applied for or offered. In this case you will be contacted before your start date. In rare instances we may ask staff to move to a different location to meet business needs after commencement of the position (transfer costs will be covered by Kings if you are asked to move centre’s during your contract).
