How do I apply for a role with Kings?
In order to apply for a role with Kings, please complete our online application form. Also ensure that you complete the second step of the application process, which requires you to email your CV and applicable qualifications to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you apply through an external body such as indeed you will still be required to send in a CV and complete our online application form.

What qualifications are required for a role with Kings?
Please take time to look at our ITALY job descriptions to get full details.
For all Teaching roles we require a completed teaching qualification. This includes a CELTA, TEFL, Trinity Certificate in TESOL, MA TESOL or equivalent. In addition, a completed Undergraduate degree is required, and previous teaching experience is desired.
Candidates interested in a Director of Studies position are required to have DELTA, Trinity diploma in TESOL or an equivalent qualification in addition to a minimum of two years teaching experience, management experience preferred.
Activity Leader roles do not require formal qualifications, we do however place preference on applicants who have previous experience in working with children and teenagers, as well as applicants with sports/coaching experience and qualifications or experience of working in an international camp environment.
What happens after I submit my application?
Once you have completed the online application and emailed your CV and qualifications to the recruitment email your application will be reviewed. If you meet all requirements and are shortlisted for interview you will be contacted with 2 weeks of your application.
Many of our interviews take place over Skype. This interview usually lasts 30-45 mins (10-20 minutes for returning staff).
If you are shortlisted for a Management role you will also be required to do a pre-interview task.
All staff must be eligible to work in the EU All gaps in resumes will be queried and two recent professional references are required for each applicant (one if returning applicant).
Upon successful interview you will receive a contract, new hire paperwork and information regarding your role with Kings. Once these are returned you will be given access to our online training platform
We aim to promote managers from within – based on performance in previous summers – but highly encourage new applicants as well.
Will I be background-checked?
It is not obligatory to get a background check on staff who work in Itlay. However we will require two professional references from a recent employer or college/university. All employment offers are subject to satisfactory results of both.

What does a typical work week look like?
Managers work 6 out of 7 days (with 1 full day off) during which the hours will vary.
All other staff (with some exceptions) work 6 days per week for a total of 46 hours, with one full day off per week. Usually, staff are allocated to fewer hours per week; however, staff might occasionally be expected to work more hours per week, should the need arise.
Working hours on any given working day may vary due to operational needs, thus a good degree of flexibility is required from staff members.
In addition to teaching and leading activities, all team members are expected to cover residential duties, which include wake up calls, shuttle supervision, meal supervision and bedtime duties.
Please note that during quieter weeks, residential duties will be allocated to all staff members in accordance with their weekly hours.
Requests for longer absences throughout the course of the summer are not normally permitted though exceptions can be made with plenty advanced warning.
Will training be provided for my role?
All staff will have access to the following training and materials following the return of your contract:
- Job Description & Staff Handbook
- Online staff portal with training materials and presentations. You will be expected to review and study these documents before you start your role
- Online Safeguarding training

How much will I be paid?
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. All staff are paid in EURO
All residential staff get full board (with 3 meals per day).
Returning members of staff in their previous role will receive a EURO 25 per week loyalty bonus upon successful completion of their contract.
Do I need to wear a uniform?
All staff will be provided with Kings issued uniform consisting of a Polo/T-shirt and hooded sweatshirt. Uniform has to be worn during all shifts. Staff are expected to keep uniforms clean and presentable and dress according to their role/the activity they are scheduled to lead.
Staff are also expected to always wear the Kings issued lanyards with their name tag and role when on duty.
Please note flip flops and/or beachwear is not permitted.
A face covering may be required.
Will I live on campus?
Most of our staff live on campus in a residential capacity. On occasion, it is possible for Teachers and Activity Staff to be non-residential and live off campus.
Staff will be located in the same areas as students for the purpose of supervision and whilst we will endevour to place all staff in single rooms staff on occasion may have to share rooms maybe with another staff member of the same gender. For operational purposes, staff might be required to change room during their stay.
All residential staff will be provided with three meals per day. Cooking facilities are not provided.
Will I have access to laundry facilities?
Yes, all of our sites have an on-site laundry which, depending on centre, is either free or has a cost of around 4 EURO per wash.
What shall I bring if I am living on campus?
Please bring your own towels and any personal items you may require throughout the summer. Bedding will be provided.
Teachers should bring classroom suitable attire, which can be worn with the uniform. All staff should bring comfortable clothing and footwear, suitable for sports, walking tours and sightseeing excursions.
All staff are responsible for personal valuables (such as laptop) which are brought to campus, so we advise for these to be covered by personal insurance.
We also encourage staff to bring along their favourite teaching materials, musical instruments (within reason) to enhance the programme delivery.
We will also be happy to answer/go through any other questions you might have during the interview process.
Will Kings organise staff transport?
All staff are required to arrange their own transportation to the centre. Upon request, we will facilitate communication between staff to arrange ride sharing on social media.
Can I bring a car to campus?
Yes, you can bring your own car and there is ample parking on site. Do note you must never use your car to transport student

What are residential duties?
These are typically wake up call, meal supervision, shuttle support and bedtime duties. These will be allocated as per weekly rota and the number might vary from week to week, depending on operational needs.
Do I need to remain on campus at all times?
No, staff are encouraged to explore the local area and enjoy their time off while not on duty. All staff must adhere to school rules and curfew times (where appropriate) . Please note rules may vary depending on current Covid-19 restrictions.
