Discover London is the perfect way to spend a summer of learning and sightseeing.

This course is perfect if you or your child wants to:
  • Stay right in the heart of London
  • Improve their core English language skills  
  • Have plenty of free time to explore this amazing city 

English lessons

15 hours of English lessons per week.

Develop the four core language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Excursions

One full-day excursion per week, and an optional organised excursion programme.

Students can also explore London in their own time.

Social programme

Optional evening activities around London, and entertainment on campus.

We can help with tickets to West End shows and concerts.

Accommodation

Students stay in one of London South Bank's halls of residence.

  • Single en suite rooms with private bathroom arranged in cluster flats with shared kitchen / dining room (please note, the kitchen is not available for cooking).

Meals

  • Modern and well presented dining facilities are located a short walking distance at LSBU's the Hub building.
  • Breakfast and lunch provided at the Hub to allow students to make the most of their free time exploring London.

Course content

Each week there is a different ‘Discover London’ theme. Students will develop their vocabulary and skills through introductory material in the classroom, and will then go on an educational visit to a London location connected with the theme. Finally, students will give a presentation about what they learned on the visit.

In addition to the weekly themes, lessons will include:

  • Preparation for the weekly full-day excursion
  • Learning about different aspects of UK Life
  • Language to improve communication on everyday topics
  • Project work on life in the 21st century

In all classes students will have the opportunity to develop their English fluency – and their confidence!
