Students are accommodated on campus in modern single rooms with private bathrooms or with communal bathrooms.

  • Residences recently refurbished to a very high standard
  • Rooms arranged in flats with a maximum of 8 students sharing a flat
  • Communal kitchen in each flat which can be used for social activities but not for cooking
  • Boys and girls are housed separately
  • Choose either rooms with private bathrooms or shared facilities with student:bathroom ratio 6:1

Meal plan

Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided every day.

Lunch and dinner are usually hot; on excursion days students are given a packed lunch. Some dinners will be off-site, depending on the programme.

Special dietary requirements

Vegetarian always available. Others available on request.

Everything the Summer Course offers plus 12 hours per week of specialist football activities.

Intensive Academic

15 hours of general English plus 12 hours per week of academic subject teaching in English, including Maths, Science, Geography and History.

  • Start dates: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29* July; 5* August 2020 (*1-week bookings available)
  • Duration: 2 – 4 weeks
  • Minimum entry level: Intermediate (pre-test required)

Typical activities

Day-time activities include:

Many visits into Brighton, sports once a week may include football, ultimate frisbee, rounders, volleyball, arts and crafts. 

Evening activities include:

Movie night, quiz night, disco, and Brighton seaside walks.

Regular visits by bus to Brighton including walking tours, seaside walks, scavenger hunts, shopping and bowling at Brighton Marina.

Two full-day excursions per week including:

  • London — Natural History Museum and Westminster walking tour/ River Cruise and South Bank walking tour
  • Hampton Court Palace
  • Oxford — walking tour and shopping

Half-day excursions

One half-day excursion per week, for example:

  • Arundel Castle
  • Lewes — walking tour and Lewes Castle
  • Eastbourne — walking tour and shopping
  • Herstmonceaux Science Observatory

At least one entrance fee per week included.
