  • Famous American poet Edgar Allen Poe briefly lived in a small cottage in the Fordham area of The Bronx, where the sounds of the chapel bells ringing from campus inspired his famous poem The Bells. The 'Old Edgar Allen' bell is today housed in Fordham’s Walsh Library
  • Butler Commons houses a scale replica of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel fresco, donated from the Metropolitan Museum of Art
