San Jang from Korea recently completed the GO: Program program with us in Wisconsin and will be starting university this Fall. Here he tells us about his recent skydiving experience.
"As an international student studying in the U.S., I’m always looking for new experiences—and skydiving has been on my bucket list for a long time. So, one day, I decided to go to the Wisconsin Skydiving Center in Jefferson, all by myself. I was a little nervous, not just because of the jump, but also because I’m still learning English and wasn’t sure how everything would go.
Luckily, everyone there was super friendly and explained things clearly. I’ve taken many airplanes before, so flying high in the sky didn’t scare me. But when it was time to jump out of the plane... my heart started racing! For a few seconds, I was nervous, but then the wind hit me, the view opened up, and I felt something amazing—freedom, excitement, and a little bit of “I can’t believe I’m doing this!”
What made me feel really safe was my instructor. He has done more than 3,000 jumps and made me feel very calm and confident. Even with my beginner English, we communicated well, and I trusted him completely.
Skydiving was not only a thrilling adventure but also a reminder that sometimes, the best way to grow is to jump—literally—into the unknown."
