Meet University of Mount Saint Vincent student, Alfonso Romero Vega.
Hi Alfonso! Where did you study at and what was your major?
I studied Biology at the University of Mount Saint Vincent.
What made you want to get a college degree in the US?
I wanted to study abroad to be exposed to new cultures and experiences.
Why did you choose to study at University of Mount Saint Vincent?
I liked the idea of studying in New York.
Why did you like it? Are there any memorable classes?
Any classes in the NatSci department are amazing. I personally liked Biology. I liked them because my professors were nice and labs were interesting.
Did you participate in any extracurricular activities (student clubs, sports, internships)?
I was an active member of Words Performing Company, a singing club at school.
Has there been any difficulties with classes or life in general? What kind of assistance did you get from Kings staff?
I forgot to pay my board fee and so the Kings staff helped me get a place on campus until I was able to get a new room.
How did Kings Education help you in preparing your application for a top university and during the transfer process?
They helped by keeping track of my progress as well as paying close attention to the process. They double checked everything before being sent to other schools as well as keeping track of deadlines.
What advantages did you find in choosing UMSV to start your journey to your dream university, rather than applying directly?
UMSV has a small student body, so it made it easier to accustomed to college life.
Which schools have you applied to and decided to transfer to? Why did you choose that university?
I decided to stay at UMSV as I really liked my professors, the program, and the research opportunities available.
What aspects of Kings Education’s support do you believe were most crucial to your successful transfer?
Kings managed the deadlines and requirement information on each school I intended to apply to. I feel optimistic about my future!
What is your favorite part of living in New York?
Cheap transportation and trying new things.
