Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) was founded in 1880 as the Bournemouth Government School of Art. It became a full university in 2012, specialising in art, performance, design and media in the creative industries. It is one of the UK's few higher education institutions exclusively dedicated to arts-based courses. It currently offers the largest film school outside London, and plans for course diversification are underway, along with the new School of Arts, Media and Creative Industries Management.
