Law degrees tend to be highly vocational and cover all aspects of the law which are required to prepare you for a legal career.

To become a lawyer through the traditional route in the UK, students must first complete a qualifying law degree (LLB) at university, or study another subject at undergraduate level, then take the one-year GDL conversion course.

Those who want to be a solicitor must complete the vocational Legal Practice Course (LPC) before undertaking a training contract with a law firm. Those wishing to become barristers should take the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) followed by a practical experience in barristers' chambers).
