Art and design students visit Wayne McGregor: Infinite Bodies exhibition
Students on the UAL Level 3 and 4 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course recently visited Infinite Bodies, an exhibition dedicated to the work of choreographer Sir Wayne McGregor, held at Somerset House.
The exhibition explores how the human body moves, reacts, and connects with technology, science, and digital systems. Through film, photography, sound, fashion, and interactive installations, Infinite Bodies shows movement as more than dance — it becomes a way to explore what it means to be human in a digital world.
Students experienced a wide range of creative collaborations, including work with visual artists, designers, filmmakers, and musicians. The exhibition encouraged students to think about how bodies interact with space, data, light, and technology, and how movement can communicate ideas, emotions, and connections.
During the visit, students used the exhibition as primary research for their coursework.

They took part in observational drawing, visual analysis, and photography tasks, focusing on themes such as connection, motion, and the relationship between the body and technology.
The visit supported students’ creative development by encouraging critical thinking, experimentation, and reflection, helping them connect gallery research with their own projects and artistic practice.
