Seojin Kim: a global future begins at Toyo University in Japan

Here at Kings, we are proud to celebrate the achievements of Seojin Kim, whose determination, hard work, and passion for making a difference have led to an outstanding opportunity. Seojin has been accepted into Toyo University's Department of Global Innovation Studies (GINOS) in Japan and awarded a full scholarship covering both tuition fees and accommodation for all four years of her undergraduate degree.

Seojin's international education journey began at Kings Seoul, where she completed the Kings Degree Pathway Programme, studying Business Studies, Economics, and Mathematics and graduating with a Diploma Merit. She later continued her academic development at Newcastle University, building a strong foundation for her future studies.

Alongside her academic achievements, Seojin has gained valuable professional experience as an educator and mentor. Through her roles at Ara Academy and Bricks Reading Leader Academy, she developed strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills while supporting students and families in their own learning journeys.

These qualities helped her secure not only a place on Toyo University's highly regarded Global Innovation Studies (GINOS) programme, but also selection as an SDGs Ambassador. This prestigious role is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through community engagement and social impact initiatives.

Reflecting on this milestone, Seojin said:

"I have been accepted into the GINOS program at Toyo University, and I was also selected as an SDGs Ambassador with a full scholarship. These are the kinds of achievements I once thought might be out of reach for me. But as I look back on everything that led to this moment, I understand now that this success was never something I built alone. It was built, quietly and steadily, on the foundation that all of you gave me at Kings Education.

The classes I took, the conversations I had, the small moments of encouragement in the hallways — they shaped the way I think, the way I face difficulty, and the way I believe in myself even now. I became someone who could fall down and still choose to stand back up, someone willing to challenge anything in front of me, not because it was easy, but because I had once been taught, patiently and consistently, that setbacks were never the end of the story. That resilience did not come from nowhere. It came from the lessons, both academic and personal, that all of you gave me during a time when I needed them most.

I don’t think I will ever be able to fully repay what you have given me — not just an education, but a way of approaching life with courage and honesty. Every lesson, every piece of guidance, every moment someone at Kings believed in me before I fully believed in myself, all of it is woven into who I am today and who I am becoming.

Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart, for everything. I hope to carry what you taught me forward, and I hope that as I begin this new chapter at GINOS, I can make all of you proud."
