Politics students explore the history of British justice

To round off the academic year, our Politics students from Kings Brighton visited the National Justice Museum in Nottingham, where they explored the history of the British justice system through a series of immersive and interactive experiences.

One of the highlights of the day was taking part in a re-enactment of a real court case, with every student playing a role in the courtroom. Even our Assistant Director of Studies, Circe, was selected to preside over the case as the judge, making the experience even more memorable.

During the visit, students also stepped inside historic prison cells once used to hold real prisoners, visited the site of former public executions, and discovered how crime and punishment have evolved over the centuries. The trip offered valuable insight into the development of the British legal system and brought many of the topics studied in the classroom to life.

It was a memorable and engaging way to conclude the academic year, giving students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of justice and history while enjoying a unique educational experience.
