Today, Friday 10th October, the world celebrates World Mental Health Day — and we at Kings Bournemouth are no exception!
To mark the occasion, Kings Bournemouth celebrated with a burst of energy, positivity, and community spirit. Our amazing Welfare Office organised a special event themed “Move for the Mood”, highlighting how physical activity — even the fun kind — can do wonders for our mental wellbeing.
The event took place on Friday morning during break time, and students (and staff!) were invited to join a series of light-hearted, movement-filled games designed to boost mood and connection.
From ping pong battles and the keepy-ups challenge, to knees and elbows relays and a lively round of Red Light, Green Light, the school grounds were full of laughter, teamwork, and friendly competition.
The message behind the event was simple but powerful: "A little movement goes a long way in lifting spirits, reducing stress, and bringing people together."
It was wonderful to see so many students and staff taking part, cheering each other on, and embracing the day’s theme with enthusiasm.
A huge thank you to our Welfare Team for organising such a positive and engaging morning — and to everyone who joined in with smiles, energy, and open hearts.
Let’s keep moving for our mood — not just on World Mental Health Day, but every day!
