Learning about environmental responsibility through action

On 22 May, staff and students at Kings Brighton came together for a whole-school event focused on environmental awareness and sustainability.

The event gave students the opportunity to learn about important environmental issues through a range of fun and interactive activities.

Members of the Eco Committee led an informative presentation, helping students understand topics such as pollution, recycling, and the impact of litter on the environment. Students then took part in quizzes that tested their knowledge and encouraged discussion about ways to protect the planet.

A highlight of the event was a mock beach clean-up activity, which formed part of a research project. Working in teams, students collected and sorted litter, learning about the effects of waste on wildlife and the importance of keeping beaches and public spaces clean.

The event encouraged students to think about how their everyday actions can make a positive difference. By combining learning with hands-on experiences, it helped raise awareness of environmental responsibility and inspired students to play their part in creating a cleaner, more sustainable future.
