We are thrilled to announce that Kings London student Siraprapa Phukhrongtaew (Ferm), who recently completed her UAL Foundation Diploma in Art & Design at Kings, has been selected to exhibit her piece Threads of Change at Origins Creatives 2025!
Origins Creatives, organised by the UAL Awarding Body, is an annual celebration of student achievement. It offers a unique opportunity for students, educators, and families to come together and honour the creativity and dedication of young artists. The exhibition features student work across a wide range of UAL subjects, including Art & Design, Fashion Business and Retail, Creative Media, Music Performance and Production, Performing Arts, Professional Diplomas, Entry Level 3 qualifications, and the Extended Project Qualification.
Ferm’s artwork was chosen from over 620 submissions received from colleges across the UK. Threads of Change was previously displayed during our in-house Art & Design Final Show in London, and we are delighted that it has now been recognised at a national level. Siraprapa is interested in how identity can shift through experience but remain deeply connected to its roots. Her submission consists of a photographic body of work which explores how people adapt to new environments while maintaining their cultural identity.

Speaking about the theme of her submission, Fern commented:
“I wanted to show this balance between adapting and preserving visually. This idea comes from seeing clothing and home as deeply connected and inseparable. Clothing is like a showcase that lets others see who we are beyond the surface, while a home is like an enlarged piece of clothing, a wardrobe, a space that holds and supports the changes a person goes through. Both reflect how identity is expressed and cared for over time. Through my project I want to show how people balance adapting to new cultures while keeping their true selves alive”.
Curated by Creative Debuts, the Origins Creatives exhibition showcases some of the most exciting emerging talent among UAL Awarding Body students. Ferm’s work will be exhibited at the Mall Galleries in London.
This is a fantastic achievement and a proud moment for both Ferm and the Kings community. Her selection is a testament to her creativity, dedication, and the outstanding standard of work produced on the UAL FAD course at Kings.
Congratulations, Ferm!
We’ll be sharing more about Ferm’s creative journey soon. In the meantime, we invite you to visit the exhibition and see her artwork displayed in this fantastic setting.
