Kings Brighton Enterprise Club

Kings Brighton Enterprise Club is a home-grown super-curricular enrichment activity that gives students at Kings Brighton the opportunity to work in teams to create, plan, launch, and review a real business idea. It is chance for enterprising students to be creative, take risks, and experience what it’s like to be an entrepreneur!

In Term 1 students were introduced to what enterprise is, what entrepreneurs do, and how to come up with, and evaluate, business ideas. They learned why market research is important, how to gather useful information about potential customers, and used research findings to improve their business idea, and to help to develop a financial plan and create a marketing plan.

More recently, in Term 2, after having rehearsed how best to deliver a persuasive group presentation, club members presented their idea to an audience of staff and students, and are currently using the feedback they received to refine their ideas.

Now that their business plan is almost ready to implement, club members will soon be experiencing what running a business involves, including how to review performance and to adapt plans when needed.

By the end of the process, therefore, they will not only have learned how businesses start, worked as a team to research and develop an idea, created and pitched a business proposal, but will also have run a small business project and reflected on how it went.

Full details of the Business Enterprise Club business venture will be available shortly, from the students themselves, when they launch their product in the Kings Brighton college community in the near future!
