Outstanding success in the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad
Chemistry A1 students at Kings Brighton Keito Okamoto and Neeka Janipour recently took part in the prestigious Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad.
The competition is widely recognised for stretching students far beyond the standard A-level curriculum, requiring participants to apply their scientific understanding in unfamiliar and complex contexts. Keito and Neeka tackled a series of challenging problems designed to test not only their chemical knowledge, but also their analytical thinking, creativity, and perseverance under pressure.
Neeka secured a bronze award and Keito a gold, which - while still in A1 study - is a phenomenal accomplishment, and reflects the exceptional dedication and ability shown by both students. With more than 17,000 students entering the Olympiad nationally, their achievements are particularly impressive.
Taking part in the Olympiad required significant commitment outside of the classroom, as students engaged with advanced concepts and developed problem-solving techniques beyond the demands of their current studies. Their willingness to embrace these challenges highlights a genuine passion for chemistry and an eagerness to extend their learning further.
Their success is a testament not only to their academic potential, but also to their determination to seize opportunities that enrich and deepen their understanding of the subject.
We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments!
