You will have regular personal progress testing and skills analysis.

Dedicated professional care and support teams are always available for help and advice.

We use the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT 4) to assess your abilities, academic potential and learning preferences.

Flexible course length

There are three different GCSE course options available:

An accelerated 1-year GCSE course is available at all Kings locations.

A 2-year GCSE course is offered in Bournemouth.

An Extended GCSE course in also available in Bournemouth.

Course structure

Specialist mentoring and support

Personal mentoring and support are important for all our students. But they are particularly vital for younger students aged 14 or 15.

Our specialist support team ensures every student develops and grows — academically, personally and socially.

Guardianship for international students

If you are an international student under 16 you must have a UK-based guardian when you come to study in the UK.

Kings uses the specialist services of Oxford Guardians. They provide a comprehensive and personal service including:

  • Pre-arrival pack and help with all pre-departure documentation
  • Meeting on arrival
  • Regular personal contact
  • Support in practical, emotional and health matters
  • 24-hour telephone contact service
  • Specialist homestay provision
  • Regular contact with parents on request
Student safety and well-being

Homestay for students under 16 years old

All students aged 14+ are automatically allocated specially selected homestay accommodation to ensure the highest levels of comfort and support.

  • Guaranteed walking distance to college
  • Large, single, well-furnished bedroom
  • Full board meals (includes lunch at college Monday to Friday)
