The RCSI pathway

Kings is partnered with The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, to offer a different, direct pathway for our medical students.

Founded in 1784, RCSI is:

• The national provider of postgraduate surgical training in Ireland
• Ireland’s largest medical school and one of the most international in the world with almost 80% of its medical seats available to Non EU students
• Ireland’s only specialist medicine and health sciences university
• The only Royal Surgical College in the world to offer undergraduate degree programmes, in Medicine, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy.

• RCSI is ranked in the top 300 of universities worldwide according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024.
• RCSI is also ranked Number 1 in the world for Good Health and Wellbeing according to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2023.

One-year Foundation pathway

You will follow the specialist Kings Advanced Level Foundation. This is based on A-level and taught by A-level teachers.

You will study Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Maths. Very strong students may also opt to do Further Maths.

Two-year A-level pathway

You will study Biology and Chemistry at A-level, as well as either Maths or Physics.
