To become an Architect in the UK, students complete a combination of five years study and two years practical work experience before completing final exams.

Each stage of study at a UK university is tied in with accreditation and monitoring by RIBA (the Royal Institute of British Architects). The professional examination is carried out by the RIBA and on successful pass of the examination, a student becomes an "architect" by law.
