The campus

The St Peters Quarter annexe has been entirely refurbished to provide an ultra-contemporary loft feel, complete with exposed brickwork, steel columns and ceiling.

It is located in Bournemouth's vibrant city centre, close to shops, cafes and restaurants. 


In Bournemouth you can choose to stay in one of our comfortable student residences, or to live with a family within easy reach of the campus.

Local fundraising for United World Schools

As part of our partnership with United World Schools and our commitment to fund the building and resourcing of at least one new school in Cambodia each year, Kings Bournemouth staff and students organize fundraising events on a regular basis.

Accreditation and awards

British Council logoKings Bournemouth is accredited by the British Council. Accreditation UK, run by the British Council and English UK, is the quality assurance scheme for the UK ELT sector.

Kings Bournemouth is registered as an independent school with the UK Government Department for Education, and is subject to regular inspection by Ofsted. See below for details of the most recent inspection.

Kings Bournemouth is also a registered UCAS centre.

We are ESL School Group of the Year 2017.
ESL are one of the largest and most respected agencies for language courses in Europe.

All ESL awards are based on feedback from their students and staff.

British Council report - October 2014

The British Council inspected and accredited Kings Bournemouth in October 2014.

The Accreditation Scheme assesses the standards of management, resources and premises, teaching, welfare and care of under 18s and accredits organisations which meet the overall standard in each area inspected (see for details).

Strengths were noted in the areas of quality assurance, premises and facilities, academic management and learner management.

The inspection report stated that the organisation met the standards of the Scheme.

Ofsted report – December 2016

All Kings Bournemouth sites were inspected with a day's notice and over the period of three days by Ofsted in December 2016.

The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) is the official body for inspecting schools in the UK. Inspectors visit schools, sit in lessons, view student work, speak to students, teachers, management and parents and rate the school on the basis of their findings. Ratings go from Outstanding to Inadequate. 

Kings Bournemouth received the following rating:

Teacher numbers and qualifications

Kings Bournemouth employs approximately 40 teachers.

For academic subject teachers we expect a minimum qualification of a first degree, although the majority of our teachers hold a PGCE qualification and/or Masters degree. 

For English language teachers, we expect a minimum qualification of CTEFLA (or a PGCE plus first degree), although the majority of our teachers hold a Diploma qualification or Masters degree.
