Kings in Suzhou

Kings in Suzhou operates in collaboration with the Xi’an Jiatong University Suzhou International College.

Founded in 1896 and referred to as the Ivy League of China, Xi'an Jiaotong University is a research-focused institution which excels in various subjects, from STEM to humanities.

Xi'an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy is an educational and research institution jointly established by the University and the Suzhou local government.

To enhance the development of international education and to better meet the local community's demand for high-quality international education programs, Xi'an Jiaotong University Suzhou Academy established the Suzhou International College.

At the Suzhou International College students can take our Advanced Level Foundation in its Extended variation in a 2+2 study plan: two terms in Suzhou and two terms at Kings Bournemouth.

This means students can:

learn within an international curriculum while still on shore
Lighten the financial burden on their families
adapt to the demands of international education before leaving to study abroad

The Suzhou International College provides an excellent study environment, on the campus of Xi’an Jiatong University Suzhou Academy.

Students have access to the state-of-the-art facilities for study, learning and enrichment activities.

2 + 2 programme

Advanced Level Foundation: An intensive one-year academic programme developed specifically by Kings and based on UK A-levels.

The rigorous syllabus is recognised by leading UK universities as ideal preparation for degree-level study. The Programme is assured by Pearson and overseen by an independent advisory board comprised of UK academic experts.

Outcome: Direct progression to a top UK university on successful completion.

For the Kings in Suzhou partnership, the programme is taught over 4 terms, two terms in Suzhou and two terms at Kings Bournemouth.

From Suzhou to international success

Kings has been welcoming students from Suzhou for the last two years.

We are very proud of how the Suzhou students have done at Kings Bournemouth and excited about their progression into top UK Universities.

Most of last year’s Foundation students have gone on to study at the University of Bristol, with others having progressed to the University of Leeds, University of Southampton, University of Glasgow, and University of Warwick, where they are fulfilled and happy. All are excellent universities that are part of the Russell Group.
