In the UK:
English Preparation
The Kings English Preparation programme is specially designed for students who do not yet have the English language level needed to start a Kings pre-university course.
It is designed to provide careful and thorough preparation for the intellectual and linguistic demands of the Kings Advanced Level Foundation, A-levels or GCSEs.
Learning outcomes
- Successful completion of the course will raise English to the level required for an academic programme at Kings
- Students will also gain the learning and study skills required for a Kings academic programme.
In the US:
GO:Prepared
The Kings GO:Prepared Program is specially designed to prepare students completely for degree-level study at a Top US university.
It includes English language development, academic skills development, College credits, US university visits and a Global Leadership module.

- Academic study skills in essay writing, reading and note-taking
Official Exam Preparation
Kings has long-standing expertise in preparing students for the most respected English language examinations.
IELTS
IELTS is the most widely accepted and recognised English qualification in the UK. Kings Oxford has been the Official IELTS Test Centre for nearly 25 years.
We are specialist in all aspects of the exam and have a range of courses designed to prepare students to maximise their test scores across all four part of the exam – reading, writing, listening and speaking.
TOEFL
In the US, TOEFL assesses student’s ability to use and understand university-level English.
Kings are the TOEFL experts. We have a range of courses specifically designed to ensure success in the TOEFL exam. These develop all four core skills and provide essential strategies, techniques and practice for exam success.
Cambridge English
We also run a range of Cambridge English courses designed to prepare students for success in these highly respected exams.
Course are available at B2 First level or C1 Advanced level and combine practical English skills development with effective exam techniques and strategies.
