Last Friday afternoon, 30 of our Kings English and Summer Academy students swapped their textbooks for swimsuits and headed out for an unforgettable afternoon at Wet ‘n’ Wild, a popular waterpark nestled in Dorchester, around 20 minutes outside of Oxford.
The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the inflatable aqua park set on the lake—a floating maze of slides, obstacles, trampolines and climbing walls that provided endless excitement. For 45 energetic minutes, students splashed, jumped, balanced, and occasionally tumbled their way through the course. It was a true workout disguised as fun!

After drying off, a few students treated themselves to a well-earned ice cream from the lakeside cafe, enjoying the lovely warm weather we’ve recently been having, it was a nice reward after a busy afternoon. It was clear that this had been the highlight for many that week.
As the afternoon wrapped up, everyone boarded the coach back to Oxford, pleasantly tired and ready to relax after the high-energy outing.
Trips like this offer more than just fun—they’re a chance for students to bond outside the classroom, build confidence, and experience some of the unique activities the UK has to offer. For many of our international students, this was their first time tackling an inflatable course on water, and they embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and good humour.
It was the perfect way to close out a busy week and kick off the weekend with energy and excitement. A huge thank you to the staff and organisers who made the trip run smoothly, we hope to run this trip again before too long so more students get the opportunity to visit Wet n Wild!
