Kings Los Angeles students recently swapped the city skyline for sandy beaches and breathtaking ocean views on an unforgettable trip to Hawaii. We caught up with student, Taiki, to tell us more.
Introduce yourself! What’s your name, where are you from, and what are you studying?
I’m Taiki, 23, from Osaka, Japan. I have a BA in Business and Marketing from Japan, and I’m currently in the US studying English for a year. I’ve been here for five months so far.
Why did you choose to go on this trip to Hawaii?
I never been. (Taiki is very adventurous he has tried many things for the first time while studying here!)
How was it traveling with a group of students from your school?
Everyone got along and we enjoyed it.
What was the most exciting or memorable part of the trip?
The beach was the best part. I am a beach person!
How did this experience help you grow personally or academically?
We learned how to coordinate a trip over a weekend and we got to use our English skills.
Was it easy to connect with new people during the trip?
I had fun connecting with locals, who also liked Japanese sports cars like me.
What would you say to other students thinking about joining a trip like this in the future?
I would encourage them to go because it was fun, and inspiring to try the food and drinks! We had LOCO MOCO, POKE and MAI TAIS.
