How Kings Brighton Celebrated Mental Health Awareness Week

27 May, 2026
Mental Health Awareness Week at Kings Brighton

At Kings, we believe that feeling good on the inside is just as important as the progress you make in the classroom.

Recently, our Brighton students came together to mark Mental Health Awareness Week in the most beautiful way. The school was filled with colour, creativity and connection as students took part in activities designed to nurture wellbeing, build friendships and simply take a breath.

A Week of Colour, Creativity and Connection

From friendship bracelet making to positive message boards and mindfulness painting sessions, the week was a reminder that learning is about so much more than textbooks and grammar exercises.

Students from all over the world sat together, created together and shared something genuinely meaningful. That kind of connection, especially when you are thousands of miles from home, is something we take seriously at Kings.

Why Student Wellbeing Matters to Us

Studying abroad is an incredible adventure, but it comes with its challenges too. Adjusting to a new country, a new language and a new way of life takes courage. We never want any student to feel like they are navigating that alone.

That is why every Kings campus has a dedicated support team in place, not as a last resort, but as an everyday resource.

  • Welfare Officers are on hand to listen, advise and connect students with the right support
  • Student Services teams help with everything from practical questions to personal concerns
  • Pastoral care is woven into the fabric of life at Kings, not bolted on as an afterthought

More Than a Language School

What makes Kings different is the understanding that academic progress and personal wellbeing are not separate things. They are deeply connected. A student who feels safe, supported and part of a community is a student who thrives in the classroom too.

Mental Health Awareness Week gave us a chance to celebrate that philosophy out loud. But the truth is, it is something we live every single week of the year.
