For Nicolas (17) and Juana (16), their time at Kings has been about much more than improving their English. It’s been about friendships, independence, new experiences — and learning how to survive the British weather!
Nicolas’ Story

Nicolas joined Kings at Level 5 and successfully progressed to Level 6 during his time here — something he is very proud of. When asked to describe his experience in three words, he didn’t hesitate:
“Friends, experience and cold weather!”
Like many international students, Nicolas quickly discovered that the UK weather can be very different from Argentina. But despite the rain and chilly days, his experience has been overwhelmingly positive. One of the biggest improvements he noticed was in his speaking ability:
“The oral skills that you learn here are really incredible.”
Being surrounded by new people from different countries helped him practise English every day in real-life situations — not just in the classroom. Outside lessons, Nicolas particularly enjoyed sports activities:
“For me the best activity is football on Mondays because it’s indoors — and you’re not cold all the time!”
He says he has enjoyed every day at school and would strongly recommend the experience to his friends back home:
“I’m going to recommend Kings to all my friends!”
Juana’s Story

Juana spent six weeks at Kings and describes it simply as:
“Funny. It’s a fun place. You laugh every day with your classmates.”
For her, one of the most special parts of the experience was the positive and friendly atmosphere. Making friends and sharing daily moments made learning English even more enjoyable. Like Nicolas, she also has practical advice for future students:
“If you’re coming here, please bring a coat or an umbrella. Always — because it’s always raining!”
Beyond improving her English, Juana says the experience helped her grow personally:
“You become more independent. I think that’s a really good experience.”
Living away from home, speaking English every day, and meeting people from around the world gave her confidence and independence that she will carry with her into the future. She highly recommends the experience:
“Meet new people and learn English — which is the main thing here.”
More Than Just English
For both Nicolas and Juana, studying at Kings has been about more than language development.
It’s about:
- Building confidence in speaking English
- Making international friendships
- Trying new activities
- Becoming more independent
- Creating memories that last a lifetime
And yes — learning to always check the weather forecast!
Their stories show that a Kings experience isn’t just about improving your level — it’s about growing as a person while having fun along the way.
