All English language students also have the option to get involved in a range of career guidance opportunities. The additional support is designed specifically for students who are preparing for their next steps in life, whether that be university progression, career or preparing to start a new life in English.
Examples include:
- Workshops or lectures: CV/resumé writing; interview and presentation skills; formal e-mail and letter composition; networking.
- One-to-one university counselling: sessions with UCAS counsellor (UK) or college progression advisor (US); attend talks and fairs from visiting university representatives.
- ‘The World of Work’ Special Interest Group (SIG) option: choose a specialised SIG focusing on topics such as intercultural competence, business ethics, employability and communication at work.
