On Friday the 16th of May to raise awareness as to the importance of mental health, Kings Oxford came together by wearing green for the day.
We organised a tea and talk session at morning break time where students could drop by and have a chat with our friendly staff and share what they wished. The idea was to encourage starting what can for some, be extremely difficult conversations to have. It was about recognising the importance of sharing and leaning on people when you need to, as there are people all around us who want to help and support.

Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. Humans thrive when we have strong connections with others and feel supported by their community, and this helped to remind us of this, that we are not alone, there is always someone who wants to listen and help. Kings works hard to help provide students with a sense of belonging, safety, and support in hard times.
All in all it was a lovely chance to come together have a biscuit and a cuppa at the end of the week! Thank you to everyone who came over and chatted, especially to those to recognised the importance a of simple gesture and the affects something so simple can have on someone who's struggling.
