Volunteering as an ambassador at an international airport

Working for Delta Airlines is a career goal for Kings Premium University (KPU) student, Sota Mihirogi from Japan. As a first semester university student at UWO-Fox Cities, Sota was excited to be selected as a volunteer ambassador with Appleton International Airport (ATW).

As a volunteer at ATW, Sota will have the responsibility of greeting airport guests as well as helping guests who need assistance or in need of a wheelchair to be transferred from the airplane to the baggage claim of the airport.

Sota, a geography major, will work with airlines such as American, Allegiant, Delta, and United Airlines. After completing university in the US, Sota hopes to become a flight attendant for Delta Airlines and become a Flight Attendant Manager one day for Delta.

Kings at UW Oshkosh Fox Cities Center Manager, Chihae Lee, helped Sota apply for the position at ATW and also helped Sota prepare for his interview as well as help get updates regarding the volunteer position.

Volunteering for a position like this with ATW not only shows the student’s motivation to juggle school work and volunteerism, but it also shows the student’s interest in working in the aviation field and taking a chance to find a way to gain experience while studying in the United States. This will all be great activities to add into the student’s resume/CV when applying to transfer universities.
