Vaccinations begin for staff and students in Wisconsin

Wednesday March 10 was an exciting day at Kings Wisconsin because UWO Fox Cities staff, Kings staff and student employees were able to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine was offered by the City of Menasha, where education staff are among the groups that became eligible for the vaccine on March 1. The first dose was offered with appointments available form 9:30 am – 12 pm and 1 pm – 3:30 pm. The second dose for the appointment will be on March 31.

We had Kings staff get their vaccine along with 6 students who are currently working as tutors, a library helper and a childcare center student assistant.

Everyone is excited about the opportunity to get vaccinated. One of the students said:

“I am glad I decided to not go back home and take the job as tutor.”

Another student commented:

“back home only the rich can get the vaccine but here it’s free so, I am grateful for the opportunity.”

Everyone is feeling fine after their vaccine and has shown no signs of side effects, or even a sore arm. We are hopeful that everyone will be able to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
