Two minutes with... Joel Krikorian

Joel Krikorian has recently returned to Kings Boston, having previously taught with us in 2012-13. Now, he joins us as Academic Affairs Manager.

We asked him a few quick questions in order to get reacquainted!

Hi Joel. What is your role at Kings Boston?

I am the Academic Affairs Manager at Kings Boston. My role involves working closely with both our teachers and students to ensure the best possible English language learning experience for everyone who studies at our school.

How long have you worked at Kings and what did you do before?

I worked at Kings at Pine Manor College previously, starting in 2012, before moving out of Massachusetts. I have just returned to Kings as of March 2021 in our lovely new setting in Back Bay. I was a teacher before returning to Kings and had been working primarily with students from K-8. Additionally, I have worked with college-age and adult English language learners both as a tutor and teacher.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy the fast pace of my position and all the different scenarios that allow me to troubleshoot and make sure our classes run smoothly for all students. In particular, I greatly appreciate working with both our teachers and learners, which keeps me actively involved in all sides of our academic program at Kings Boston.

What do you like most about living in Boston?

Boston is a charming city with a rich history. It is also remarkably diverse in all its corners.

"Just exploring the variety of different neighborhoods in Boston is such an eye-opening experience. I especially appreciate both the walkability and accessibility of this city and its location right on the Atlantic Ocean."

Where is the best place you’ve visited?

I had an unforgettable experience visiting Tokyo for a week. I was amazed at the juxtaposition of its historical elements and modern infrastructure side by side across the city.
