I have worked here for 3 months, so I am still kind of new. Before Kings, I used to teach at CES College in Burbank for 8 years.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
My favorite part of this job is learning. I learn something new every time a student walks into my class. It can be anything from culture, to food, and their American experience.
What do you like most about LA?
I like the rhythm of the city. It is an electric city with so many people, so many cultures. It brings a certain level of energy that most cities lack.
Where is the best place you’ve visited?
My favorite place is Oaxaca, Mexico. It is surrounded by history. It is an ancient city with its history dating back 5000 years. I feel that it is a surreal experience going there.
What is the last book you read?
The last book that I have read is, 'An Edible History of Humanity'. It was written by Tom Standage. I highly recommend it if you are a fan of food.
What is your favorite film?
My favorite film is 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. I like it because the film's themes still resonate with the issues of today.
What would be your ideal character to play in a film?
Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird. He is a man of principle, and I admire how he stayed dignified in the face of loss.
Which well-known figure would you most like to invite to dinner?
Joni Mitchell. She is my favorite musician and poet. She is a very cool person. One interesting fact about me is that I actually have had lunch with her already!
What is your favorite quote?
"You learn something every day, if you pay attention." — Ray LeBlond. I think this is something that we should all live by!
