Two minutes with... Kayla Johnson, Progression Advisor
We get to know Progression Advisor, Kayla Johnson, who is based at Kings at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh Fox Cities. Kayla helps students with their transfer applications to top US universities.
What do you do at Kings?
I am the Progression Advisor at Kings Education at UW–Oshkosh Fox Cities campus. I help students make their transfer process successful.
How long have you worked at Kings and what did you do before?
I began working with Kings in August 2018. Before Kings, I studied International Studies and Political Science at Benedictine College, where I worked under Student Life.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy helping students reach their goals. It is rewarding to see students who have worked hard accomplish their dreams.
What do you like most about Wisconsin?
Wisconsin is a beautiful state, and I enjoy taking advantage of the gorgeous lakes, rivers, and trails that Wisconsin has to offer.
Where is the best place you've visited?
The best place I have visited is Segovia, Spain. It is a picturesque little town in Spain where history and culture come to life.
What is the last book you read?
The last book I read was 'Ping-Pong Diplomacy' by Nicholas Griffon. I find it intriguing to learn about different political systems and how they play a role in foreign relations.
What is your favorite film?
My favorite film is 'Cool Runnings'. Comedy and historical fiction come together to create a truly hilarious but inspirational film.
What would be your ideal character to play in a film?
Mary Poppins. She can make a room clean itself!
Which well-known figure would you most like to invite to dinner?
If I could invite anyone to dinner, it would be Mother Teresa. I would love to soak up her wisdom.
