Meet our new SENCO at Kings London, Donna-Marie
Hi Donna, what do you do at Kings?
I am the SENCO who was recently appointed and I work with students who have disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, and Social Anxiety.
How long have you worked at Kings and what did you do before?
So, I am new, and I have only been here for 6 weeks. I used to work in a public school as a support worker, helping students more in the classroom than in management.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
The greatest part of my job is advocating for students and getting them what they need such as liaising with teachers in the classroom to create a welcoming environment.
Which well-known figure would you most like to invite to dinner?
I would love to have dinner with Denzel Washington, he is a big pioneer of helping the less fortunate. He gives back to his community and creates opportunities for people of colour in the film industry. His whole demeanor is very humbling, and you can tell he is very hardworking and down to earth. His approach to his craft is very inspiring.
