Two minutes with… Daisy Panganiban
Get to know one of our English teachers here at Kings Los Angeles, Daisy Panganiban.
What do you do at Kings?
I am an ESL teacher. Right now, I am teaching Level 2.
How long have you worked at Kings and what did you do before?
I started here in June 2019. Back in the Philippines, I was a teacher trainer (speech communication) and an IELTS instructor among others.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy interacting with my students, learning about their different cultures and nuances of language.
What do you like most about LA?
I find LA to be a vibrant place, with an exciting vibe; so many different things happening in different places.
Where is the best place you’ve visited?
Lake Tahoe, because it is a beautiful place. It is a serene location, it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer.
What is the last book you read?
'Delay, Don’t Deny: Intermittent Fasting'.
What is your favorite film?
There are too many to name right now! I guess if I had to just say one, I would go with [Pixar/Disney film] 'Up', among others.
What would be your ideal character to play in a film?
A strong, fit, 80-year old, glamorous, grandmother who is the envy of her relatives. She’s a smart, sassy, but gentle and loving, and aims to inspire other elderly women.
Which well-known figure would you most like to invite to dinner?
Steve Harvey. I like his face and his smile. I really admire his faith and his humor.
