Two minutes with… Christiemol Abraham
In our latest staff interview, we chat to Kings New York's Christiemol Abraham!
What do you do at Kings?
I work as the Student Experience Coordinator for Kings New York. I make sure students have a smooth transition to campus and residence life, address students’ queries as well as promote with day-to-day activities.
How long have you worked at Kings and what did you do before?
I started working for Kings in June of 2019 immediately after I graduated from Concordia College, NY.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What excites me the most about the job is how students from across the world bring in their own different cultures, spend time learning English here at Kings — and have the greatest things to say about their experiences and journeys, and are able to express it through their words and actions.
We have a great team here at Kings New York and are glad to see this enthusiasm in students.
What do you like most about NY?
It has been quite some time that I started living in New York. New York lives up to the expectations. I am always awestruck about Times Square. Even though I have been there a number of times, it seems surreal every time. It is as welcoming as it looks.
Where is the best place you’ve visited?
I would have to say New Delhi, India. Not just because I have grown up in this beautiful city or the memories, but because of the vibe. There is so much to explore that one can create a bucket list as well as experience the amalgamation of the Indian culture.
What is the last book you read?
My last good read was 'Fast Food Nation' by Eric Schlosser.
What is your favorite film?
Being a movie buff, it would be a very difficult choice. But currently, one of my favorites is The Fighter starring Christian Bale, Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams.
What would be your ideal character to play in a film?
This is a no-brainer because I was just thinking about it yesterday. For some reason I have always wished to play actor Hilary Duff’s character Lizzie McGuire.
Which well-known figure would you most like to invite to dinner?
What is your favorite quote?
"If you can do what you do best and be happy, you are further along in life than most people." — Leonardo DiCaprio
