What did you study at Concordia College?

I was a Business major in New York.

What made you want to study abroad to pursue your degree?

I came to the US to gain more experience. It's the best way to improve your English.

What are your plans or goals after graduation?

I want to work as a Financial Analyst. It's more like a family tradition for me. But it can also make me a lot of money, so that is a bonus.

Why did you choose to study at Kings Concordia?

I chose Kings at Concordia because it's close to New York City. I could have studied Business at another Kings school, but I wanted to be near New York.

What was your favorite class, why did you like it?

My favorite class at Concordia was Pre-calculus. The teacher was very cool, and the class helped me to learn what I needed to prepare for Business Mathematics and courses like Calculus. I also liked Broadway and Beyond because I got to have a lot of new experiences, such as seeing shows on Broadway.

What class did you find more challenging, and why?

English 120 has been the most challenging. English is not my first language, and the course is designed for American students. So, it was challenging to complete assignments such as Research Papers.

In order for you to get to your dream school, how did Kings staff guide you through the process?

My Kings Advisor helped me a lot. It was helpful to have someone who knew all the details of the application process. He also gave me a lot of good suggestions and advice about choosing programs in the US.

Which student activity did you enjoy the most?

I am not a huge fan of organized activities, but the school offers things like open gym, which has been one of my favorite things to do. Mostly, I enjoyed hanging out with my friends, and I was able to make a number of good friends here at Concordia.

What is your favorite part of living in NY?

The area I live in is peaceful and safe. It's very close to New York, so I got a chance to go to the city often for shopping, eating out at restaurants. New York has lots of good concerts, so I got a chance to see a lot of shows from opera to ballet to rock concerts.

Is there anything you wish you'd prepared before starting school?

Knowing English is essential. You need to be able to speak English fluently, or else it will impact your academic life and ability to make friends outside your own group.
