Top 5 reasons to study English in Los Angeles

Los Angeles is a vibrant city, brimming with excitement at every corner! From the beaches to the mountains…from Hollywood Boulevard to Rodeo Drive, you can always find something to do in this city. It’s no surprise that LA is a great place to study English as well. There are so many opportunities for students to practice English and immerse themselves in the LA culture.

Here are our top 5 reasons to study English at Kings Los Angeles.

1. Entertainment and activities

LA is known as the entertainment capital of the world. You can watch a show at the famous Pantages Theater. Catch a red carpet movie premier on Hollywood Boulevard. For those who are interested in art, there are several museums that offer free admission (MOCA, The Broad, and Hammer Museum). Students studying in LA will have no shortage of activities and entertainment.

2. Perfect weather

Many people move to LA for the weather. You can’t beat the sunshine and warmth you get year round. Hot summers are made enjoyable by beach trips and chilling out in movie theaters. The consistent cool weather means that you can spend less time worrying about the weather and more time practicing new idioms!

3. Hiking

LA is definitely a big city with bright lights, big roads, and tall buildings. You don’t often think about the surrounding nature parks and mountains. LA is becoming one of the best cities for hiking! One of the most famous hikes in the trek to the Hollywood Sign; with various points of entry you can have an easy or difficult hike to the peak. Other popular trails include “The Bridge to Nowhere”, “Eaton Canyon Trail”, and “Sturtevant Falls”. Students who need a break from the city life, can put on their hiking boots and go hiking!

4. Diverse cultures

LA is the home of so many different cultures and people. Throughout LA you will find local communities for Mexican Americans, Japanese Americans, and other people who immigrated to the US. Visiting the Japanese-American National Museum will teach you about the history of Japanese immigrants in Los Angeles. Maybe your culture is represented in LA?

5. Foodie heaven

With a variety of different cultures in one city comes a variety of different food! LA is one of the greatest cities for “foodies”. If you love trying new and exciting food, LA is the place to be. For delicious Chinese food you can visit Chinatown. If you are craving Fried Chicken, “Howling Rays” is one of the best (and spiciest) hot chicken restaurants in the city. During the summer, you can visit the “626 Night Market” to try LA’s newest food trends. You shouldn’t go hungry studying in LA!
