Studying Business at UWO–Fox Cities
Kukjeen Han (Dave) from South Korea is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Fox Cities, taking classes in Business aiming to transfer to UW–Madison School of Business. Dave participates in school events and Kings activities, is part of UWO–Fox Cities' Business Club, and loves to play soccer with other students in his free time. We sat down with him and asked a few questions about his student life.
What made you want to study for a degree overseas?
I wanted to pursue my degree abroad, to get a better degree than I could get in my country.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I will try to get a job in the US as far as I can, otherwise I will go back to Korea.
Why did you choose to study at Kings at UW-Fox Valley?
I choose to study at Kings at UW-Fox Valley because I heard that Kings would cover many areas such as caring for students, and I chose UW-Fox Valley for a transfer guarantee to UW-Madison.
What are your favorite classes and which do you find challenging?
My favorite class is ENG101 [College Writing and Critical Reading]. Although it has lots of assignments, it really helped me in terms of writing. I also find it challenging. As I said, it used to have lots of assignments, and it was tough for me.
Have you decided on your target schools? How are Kings staff guiding you through the process?
My target schools have been UW-Madison. Kings staff are helping me in what classes I should take for transfer and what out-of-class activities would be helpful for me.
Which student activity did you enjoy the most?
I like visiting the Writing Pad [tutoring service which provides one-to-one writing support to UW–Fox Valley students] and clubs was enjoyable for me because it made me feel doing worthwhile things.
What do you like about living in Menasha/ Appleton?
My favorite part about living here is it is such a quiet city to live and concentrate on studying.
Is there anything you wish you would’ve prepared before starting school?
I would prepare for classes that I would take for next semester in advance. And before next semester starts I would like to go on a trip to Chicago.
