Scholarship, studies, and future plans: an interview with Stephan

Meet Stephan, an A-Level Student from Kazakhstan.

Stephan won Roger McMahon Scholarship and is currently studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths at Kings Bournemouth. We sat down with him to learn more about his school life and academic journey.

What do you like about Kings?

Definitely the international community—I have made many friends from all over the world. Additionally, I enjoy that Kings is a small school, which creates a close-knit environment where everyone knows each other.

What opportunities has the Roger McMahon Scholarship given you?

First of all, it has allowed me to pursue an international education. Secondly, it has strengthened my passion for Biology and Chemistry. Additionally, I believe it will provide me with the necessary qualifications to further my education.

What do you do at school apart from studying?

I am the co-president of the Student Council, alongside my friend. We help organise school events like the Winter Ball and Prom, as well as facilitate communication between students and teachers.

What are your future university plans?

I am considering two options. My first choice is applying to a university in the UK, with University of Bath being my top preference. I am also thinking about applying to a Charite Berlin university in Germany for a medical degree. I have always been passionate about Medicine, and I am confident I will excel in these universities. Both the UK and Germany are renowned for their high-quality education systems, and I believe studying in either country will allow me to reach my full potential.
