Rancho Palos Verdes ranked in the 'Safest Suburbs in Los Angeles'

Los Angeles, California is known for its excellent weather, many diverse foods, and various shops and things to do. Tucked away in this very popular area is the small suburb of Rancho Palos Verdes, home to Marymount California University.

Most recently ranked #15 in the '2018 Safest Suburbs in the Los Angeles Area', Rancho Palos Verdes offers spectacular views overlooking the Pacific Ocean, nice quiet residences, and friendly people! The community is very private, but is the perfect place for motivated students to go to a college in a safe environment at MCU.

With plenty of trees, in Rancho Palos Verdes people often feel like they're living in the mountains, until you look out toward the ocean, and appreciate the broad sweeping ocean views. There are many parks and outstanding hiking trails. Because of the rich nature surrounding the area, there is plenty of interesting wildlife; an abundance of peacocks, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, skunks and snakes.

Another benefit is that because of the higher elevation above the Pacific Ocean, it has a unique climate ranging between 3 – 8 degrees warmer than the beach. On many days when the beach is fogged in (during June and July) Rancho Palos Verdes is enjoying the sun with nice and mild weather.

This is nothing like any other part of Los Angeles — no traffic or crowds, no smog or busy freeways. There are high cliffs, amazing ocean views and views of Catalina Island. Rancho Palos Verdes is a wonderful place and at its heart is the beautiful campus of Marymount California University. If you're looking for a quiet place to focus, study, and gain a world-class education, please join us. We'll have a seat waiting for you!
