Preparing for university on the Advanced Level Foundation in Brighton
We recently met with Frances, who is currently studying Advanced Level Foundation at Kings Brighton. She shares her experience with studying this course and explains how the challenges she faces studying in Kings are all helping her to develop and will facilitate her application to university
“Hi, my name is my name is Frances Nwachukwu and I am 16 years old. I have been studying Advanced Level Foundation with Kings Brighton for five months now.
So far, it has been a really interesting experience and I am very pleased that I chose to study at Kings from the list of choices I was provided by my agent. Before any of this, I always had Kings as one of my top UK schools to study in and realised I made the right decision as soon as I arrived. Kings has proven to be an extremely friendly environment where you can excel in. The community is filled with great people across the world and they are always ready to help you.
In the beginning, although I knew I wanted to go to Kings, I was quite scared with moving into a completely new environment for the first time. However, I can now say I have adjusted really quickly, and I don’t feel homesick!
My aim is to apply to one of the top UK universities after completing my Advanced Level Foundation. Kings have already prepared me for this through the sheer amount of work! Although we have a limited time frame to complete the work, it has taught me the importance of time management and I have improved on this as a skill. I understand that I will need this at university, which makes me feel more confident.

The little time I have spent here has given me the opportunity to think about exactly what I would like to do in the future and the steps I have to take in order to get there.
I can really relate to students who have different cultural backgrounds and learning about various parts of the world is exciting! I love the fact that everyone is easy to approach, and the teachers always go over what you may find difficult.
I have definitely enjoyed my few months here and I look forward to the rest of my journey with Kings."
