Participating in job shadowing project in Wisconsin

Kings Premium University (KPU) students taking Introduction to Business class at UWO-Fox Cities were given a Job Shadowing Project where they “shadow” someone in a career that they were interested in. As international students, it can be hard finding the connections and having knowledge who to reach out to for projects like this.

Kings Campus Support/Housing Coordinator, Tirtha Gurung helped KPU students coordinate with professionals in the Menasha/Appleton, Wisconsin community to get first-hand experience in the career or job field students are interested in pursuing. Tirtha reached out to local store managers, banking executives, and housing managers to help students complete their class assignment.

Kai Yang and Zhibo Zhang, both first semester UWO-Fox Cities students interviewed Stephen Zich, Vice President of Digital Marketing at Community First Credit Union. Both students were able to tour the new $25M headquarters which opened in 2017 located in nearby Neenah, WI. They learned about the different departments within the company and received valuable advice on how to be successful in their future careers.

KPU students, Hwanseo Yu (Korea), Victor Falcon (Panama), EuiChan Lee (Korea), Taewoo Park (Korea), and Hyunho Jang (Korea) interviewed Property Manager, Quinton Marks with BMOC Inc.-Student Housing Management. Students asked questions about education needed for the specific career as well as overall duties related to the job.

All Kings students receive support and guidance related to their studies at UWO-Fox Cities. For many international students who feel shy or unsure of outside class assignments, Kings Wisconsin staff take their time to help support students to do their best in their academics while studying at UWO-Fox Cities.
