My time on the Intensive 25+ course at Kings LA

Carolin Toelstede from Germany tells us about her experience so far at Kings LA.

Hi Carolin. How long have you been at Kings and what course are you taking?

I’ve been at Kings for 3 months now and I am taking the Intensive English 25+ course.

What do you enjoy most about the lessons, and how many people are in your class?

I appreciate the highly skilled and competent teachers and the small classes. The average number of people in the classes is between 5-10, which makes learning very effective.

Why did you decide to take this course? Do you have specific plans which require English skills?

Since I work in the media business, which is an international industry, good English skills are required. I chose this course because I want to improve my English as much as I can in a few months.

What made you choose Kings over another language school?

In comparison to the other language schools in LA, Kings looked highly modern and friendly. Furthermore, I like that the school is located in the heart of Hollywood.

Are you enjoying your experience so far, and what have been the highlights?

The best thing that I experienced at Kings is meeting people from all over the world. You don’t just learn English together, you also learn about different cultures.

Had you been to LA before? What do you like most about LA/Hollywood?

5 years ago I visited Los Angeles for the first time and fell totally in love with this city! You can just do everything here! This city is so multi-faceted and never gets boring.

Where are you staying here? Would you recommend it?

I’m staying in a bungalow at La Mirada. It’s a modern accommodation with palm trees right in front of my door! But the best thing about La Mirada is that many students stay here and you spend a lot of time with them.

Have you done any activities or excursions here, and if so, what has been the highlight?

The best excursion that I did with the school was hiking to Runyon Canyon. It’s not that far away from school and at the top of it you have a beautiful view of LA.

What do you think of the facilities at Kings LA?

The facilities at Kings LA are very good. We have everything we need here, even a computer lab with a lot of Macs that we can use for free.
