Learning 'the world's language' online

Hissah, from Saudi Arabia, had been studying at Kings London before the COVID-19 crisis hit and the schools closed for in-person teaching back in March. She has continued her studies online and tells us a bit more about how it has been going here.

What is your name, age and where are you from?

My name is Hissah Aldolaimi, I’m 28 and I’m from Saudi Arabia.

Which online English course have you been taking with Kings?

I have been taking general english in the morning, and law in the afternoon.

How have you found your online lessons? What have you enjoyed?

The online classes were really good, I have enjoyed having this new experience, but having a bad internet connection was a real struggle!

Talking about interesting topics, students sharing their different ideas and without face-to-face situation, students are more confident to express their thoughts.

I loved all my teachers, my experience at Kings were amazing. I have never enjoyed studying this much thanks to them.

Describe a typical online lesson.

Having a good wi-fi, talking about interesting topics, students sharing their different ideas.

What is the main reason that you want to improve your English? (for your career/for university /for travel /etc.)

English is the world’s language now, so it’s important to have a good level of it. And I wanted to improve my legal English to get a better job.

How was your time studying at Kings London before the schools closed? What did you enjoy?

It was a new experience and loved everything about it, even having homework!

Are you still in touch with any friends you made from Kings London? Where are they from?

Yes of course, still in touch with many from different countries.

Do you think that London is a good city for students? Why?

I love London because it has everything you need.

What are your future plans? Will you return to Kings to study in-person?

I’m planning to return to Kings London in January 2021 and I can't wait.
