This Valentine's Day, love, kindness, and community spirit was in the air at Kings Oxford as we came together to support a wonderful cause—Oxford Pride. The school hosted a series of events that brought students and staff together to raise funds for Oxford Pride, an organisation that champions the LGBTQ+ community and advocates for equality and inclusivity.
The festivities kicked off with two bake sales across both school campuses. Students and staff had the chance to indulge in homemade treats, ranging from cupcakes to cookies, brownies to flapjacks, each lovingly prepared by our lovely staff members. Along with the tasty treats, there was also an opportunity to purchase cards and roses, perfect for spreading a little love.
The following Friday Kings organised a Valentines party at a local venue for all students to attend, which turned out to be a highly enjoyable and successful evening, with many of our English Language students in attendance. It wasn’t just about dancing, and socialising at the end of the week though; it was about coming together as a community to make a real difference. Through ticket sales and donations, the event raised vital funds to support Oxford Pride’s mission, ensuring that their work continues to positively impact the LGBTQ+ community.
We are incredibly proud of our Kings Oxford students for their dedication, support and enthusiasm in making this charity fundraiser a success. From the bake sales to the party, every part of these events was a testament to the love and support we have for each other and for Oxford Pride and the LGBTQ+ community. We hope to continue to support Oxford Pride and other meaningful causes in the future, and we hope this Valentine’s Day event has inspired more acts of kindness and love in our school community.
