Meet Ingrid from Romania! Ingrid came to the UK to take her A-levels and EPQ to improve her university application.
"I’ve always wanted to study in the UK and Kings has allowed me to fulfil this dream. I’m studying Art, Economics and History A-levels and I enjoy classes with all of my teachers because they’re very helpful and communicative.
I was advised by my course director to do an Extended Project Qualification and I thought that it would be helpful in making my university application stand out. I knew that some universities give alternative offers to the students who achieve a high grade in EPQ, which eventually happened to me so I’m happy I made this decision.
I'd like to study Music and Philosophy at university and try to fulfil my dream of becoming a music producer. My course director helped me get in contact with Rebecca Boulton, the manager of such legendary bands like New Order and Joy Division, to do an interview with her for my EPQ. It was an amazing experience and was the first time I ever got in contact with someone from the British music industry.
Undertaking an EPQ has helped me understand how to go about doing an extended essay, as well as widening my knowledge of music psychology. It has also made me realise that I like public speaking and that I would like to perhaps also become a teacher at some point in my life."
