Every Sunday morning, the Hollywood Farmers Market comes alive, filling Ivar and Selma with the warmth of community.
Located only a ten minute walk from campus, our center director always recommends the farmers market to our visitors and students. He has been attending for the market for the past 17 years. As one of the largest markets in Los Angeles County, it’s a lovely spot for everyone to find something that suits their fancy. You can wander through booths filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and beautiful handmade ceramics.
Coffee enthusiasts will find a variety of stands, while food lovers can savor dishes ranging from Korean, Thai and Mediterranean. Throughout the market you can find plenty of live music, and seating to enjoy your foods. There is plenty of seafood, flowers, and bakeries for you to choose from. If you want to bring the market home, many vendors offer delicious packaged foods for your fridge. This market is very health conscious with tons of booths selling fresh whole foods, there is even a compost center for you to recycle food scraps. It definitely shouldn't be missed as it is a booming epicenter of artistic expression and community empowerment.
